Applicants must possess at least 1 year of fine dining or 3 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time hours. Afternoon to Late Night Shifts. Bi-weekly payroll. Competitive wages.
Qualifications:
- Food Handler’s Certification needed but not mandatory to be hired.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.-75 lbs.
Work well under pressure
Previous kitchen or food-prep experience preferred but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Basic knife skills
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
Responsibilities
- Full commitment to live by El Weinecero’s core values.
Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and standards.
Prepare and portion items for service, events, and daily operations
Assist Chef Alejandro with basic cooking tasks when needed
Ensure prep stations are fully stocked and organized
Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas
Label and store ingredients properly (FIFO method)
Follow all food-safety and health department guidelines
Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing deliveries
Support cooking operations during busy periods
Skills
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling/sautéing)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
